This word is my word: Grace. During the intensive This word is my word: Grace. During the intensive week of my basic skills class, I hit a wall. Imposter syndrome kicked in, I became highly critical of myself, and I questioned if I was doing the “right” thing by becoming a counselor. My supervisor spoke a word and in that moment he talked about the importance of grace. Not only do I need to extend grace to my clients, but I need to extend grace to myself. It was a pivotal moment for me and things started to “click.” I wrote “grace” on my notebook and I knew I would carry this word moving forward. This word became so important to me that I reached out and had this piece created specifically for the purpose of hanging on the wall of my counseling office I’d have some day. Today’s that day. Today I brought this piece to my new counseling office, unwrapped it, and placed it here on this wall. It will serve as a reminder to myself every day that His grace is sufficient….for me and for you.
